Start with curiosity, not code
AI literacy for children begins with ideas: machines notice patterns, follow rules, and sometimes get things wrong. You do not need Python on day one.
Match the explanation to the child. A five-year-old might compare a robot vacuum to a pet that always follows the same path; a teen can discuss training data and bias.
Ages 5–7: Notice, sort, decide
Use everyday examples: photo filters, voice assistants, recommended videos.
Play sorting games: which objects belong together? That is how many systems learn categories.
Emphasize rules: robots and apps do what they are told — someone built those rules.

Your role as parent
You do not need to be an engineer. You need a consistent, safe place to practice.
